The Music Makers
Friday 8 November 2019 @ 19:30 – 22:00
This year’s concert given by supporters of GAF wil be even more varied than previous years comprising both singing and instrumental music. The names of the groups do little to explain their make up so here are a few details about the people involved. Anita Hall will be bringing her friends again (Fluticity) to entertain us with her flute and the local A Capella Quartet known as Desafinado is returning to GAF with some new songs. Although we know Gilly Slot from our Gilbert and Sullivan production we look forward to welcoming the rest of her group called Fusion – she will be supported by Derek Hasted and Lisa Wheadon on guitars and Claire Whiteside on double bass. Finally we will hear the recently formed PopUp Choir which owes its origin to the Pirates of Penzance – some of us couldn’t wait to start rehearsing for next April’s G&S production and we decided to fill the singing free gap with the establishment of this new choir.
Bringing so much local talent together in The GAF Centre is going to be a must for anyone interested in music. The actual music to be played and sung is still a secret, but you can be sure that it will be varied and entertaining.
